July
29 - August 1 2004
University of San Diego
Get ready...get set...go to Camp Fire USA's 2004 National Youth
Leadership Forum, a four-day meeting for teens in grades 9-12 to
research the national youth campaign issue, hunger and homelessness,
and discuss possible service-learning projects that they can do
in their own communities. The forum also gives teens a chance to
interact with concerned and active adults, network with one another
and have fun.
At the forum, teens participate in workshops lead by prominent
national speakers and other educational events designed to enhance
their leadership skills and knowledge in critically addressing the
chosen issue. Teens are then trained to implement service-learning
projects in their home communities. They also have fun at special
activities, day trip and more!
Here are the basics:
- Date: July 29-August 1
- Location: University of San Diego
- Cost: approximately $175 (includes meals, lodging, conference
materials and an evening outing at one of San Diego's many attractions)
- Registration: check back in April for registration forms and
information as well as fundraising ideas to pay your way to San
Diego!
