Summer nights around the campfire,
sunny days filled with fun!
At beautiful Camp Wilani, fall asleep under the stars
and wake up with the sun!
What could be better than summer camp? One sunny day after the
next, our campers have the time of their lives getting into cool
programs like archery, aquatics, mountain biking, sports and games,
challenge events and more!
The daily program at Camp Wilani is flexible, relaxed and carried
out so that campers have fun in the outdoors. Cabin groups plan
their activities. The camp community is small enough to give individual
attention by staff to the interests and needs of each camper, yet
large enough to provide a wide variety of activities where a camper
can develop new interests and learn new skills. Campers live, work
and play with others their own age and also have the opportunity
to make friends of other ages. They learn to take care of themselves
and experience the satisfaction of being on their own. Good experiences
in the outdoors naturally lead to a desire to take care of our natural
environment. All program activities are available to all campers,
but participation is geared appropriately to age levels.
Resident campers "mosey on down" to Munson Arena for horseback
riding and horsemanship training. When the sun is shining bright,
it's time to head to the poolhouse for a plunge in our crystal blue
swimming pool! For a mid-day thrill, campers might take a ride over
Hani Lake on the outrageous zip-line swing or experience 84-acres
of trails on a group mountain bike tour. As daylight lingers, campers
tap into their creative sides making arts and crafts or designing
a costume for a skit. Once the moon begins to rise, campers enjoy
the "night life" of summer camp with evening programs, campfires,
songs, marshmallow roasts and stargazing!
During their 7-day session, resident campers are provided with
comfortable sleeping quarters in cabins, yurts, A-frames or tipis,
well-balanced meals in Beam Dining Hall, snacks, event supplies
and well-trained adult supervision. Most of our summer program staff
are college students majoring in education, recreation, art, natural
sciences, child development or human service fields. All staff participate
in a 10-day counselor training and CPR/First Aid certification.
A camp nurse is on site all day and night to manage health and wellness.
When camp comes to an end, each camper takes home a Camp Wilani
emblem, group photo and great memories!
